Summer Farewell for The Fishwives: A look back.
Friday August 14, 2009. Mitzi's Sister at 11PM. Mark it down in your journals, kiddies, because this was the day The Fishwives played their best ever gig in their young musical career. Not only did they play almost their entire catalogue of hits, they jazzed up a few of their classics in a supreme effort to give the fans what they want. Rum & Band-Aids; excellent. The Girl, part 2; phenomenal. Cover of Lovebug by The Jonas Brothers; exquisite. Kudos to Atty, Caleb, James and Brandon for their amazing work in a final summer farewell. As The Fishwives end their summer stint, so does this blogger's journey with the band. Come back in the late Spring, when The Fishwives form up again. Also look for updates, like possible Rockband Network tracks from the Fishwives, which would be playable on most rock band merchandise (idea still pending). Also look out for the band's EP, which will most likely come out during next summer. Until then; peace, love and rock 'n' roll.

Mitzi's Sister: Friday August 14, 9PM
The Fishwives are playing what may be their final gig of the summer at Mitzi's Sister this Friday. All ages, $5. 1554 Queen St. West. This observer highly suggests you attend, for this may be the last gig for a while. Expect videos on the youtubes if you can't make it.

Quick Update
I know I haven't been updating the blog to its due respect, so I must fill you in on the open mic event at Mullin's Wednesday the 8th. It went very well, including a cover of Radiohead's "Bodysnatchers". Atty was drumming out to the beat, which is a very good sign. The kind of injury he sustained usually keeps people out of commission for about a month, but Atticus bounced right back with a masterful performance, as well as the rest of the band. The Fishwives are commencing recording for their upcoming EP, so look out for that and any other updates concerning performances, leaked EP info and perhaps additional video?
Stay tuned!

Mullin's Pub: The Final Frontier
Good news! The Fishwives are playing at Mullin's Wednesday July 8, 2009 at 10 PM. Free admission, so make it over there. This means that Atty should be recuperated from his devastating I.M.S. coupled with a crippling shoulder blade removal and topped off with honey-nut areolas.

Melancholy news
The Fishwives have a very impressive gig booked on September 1 at The Horseshoe Tavern. More details to follow when they get here. On the sad side, I have learned from guitarist James Gilbert that the band's percussion master and youngest Fishwife Atticus Mitchell has suffered a fractured collarbone that will halt production of the band's newest, untitled future EP and will stop the band from playing from any gigs in the near future. I think it's safe to say we all wish Atty a speedy recovery. Get well soon!
